Family Physician (FP) – VCHA-5458

Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to build and manage a longitudinal family practice with flexibility for both in-person and virtual care. Physicians will provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse patient population within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, with access to allied health professionals and specialist collaboration. The role offers flexible scheduling, modern EMR support, and the ability to develop a personalized practice style while maintaining strong continuity of care. Mentorship and collegial support are readily available for physicians at all stages of practice.

Open to considering the following practice arrangements to fill this family physician (FP) vacancy:

  1. Permanent Full-time FPs
  2. Permanent Part-time FPs
  3. Locum-to-Permament FPs (FPs seeking to trial various practice settings prior to securing a clinical home & beginning to build a patient panel)
  4. Career Locum, Permanent Float FPs (seeking roles that do not require building a patient panel – i.e., providing regular/scheduled walk-in, patient overflow or vacation coverage)

*This clinic site is VCH approved to supervise Return of Service (ROS) International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and sponsor FPs holding a provisional licence.

On-Call Expectations:
There are no formal weekly on-call obligations associated with this role. Physicians are expected to follow up on their own urgent or critical results after hours when not on vacation, with flexible collegial coverage arrangements available during absences.

Overhead:
Overhead includes fully furnished exam rooms, reception and administrative support, billing support, OSCAR EMR access, officesupplies, and access to virtual care infrastructure. Physicians benefit from an established multidisciplinary environment with access to aclinical pharmacist, clinical counsellor, specialist collaboration, and shared clinic resources. The clinic also provides scheduling support,IT infrastructure, and assistance with day-to-day operational management, allowing physicians to focus on patient care.
